On the First Floor
In the restored south wing of Zurich’s main station, an intimate bar and representative conference rooms are tucked away. Their furnishings are contrasting yet restrained. The «Au Premier» bar is an insider tip. Although thousands of passers-by walk past it every day, it usually goes unnoticed. In fact, people walk underneath it when they enter Zurich’s main station through the south wing. Only those in the know realize that an inconspicuous side entrance leads to the bar and conference rooms on the second floor. The south wing was built in 1871 by Jakob Friedrich Wanner in the Neo-Renaissance style.

Aebi & Vincent Architekten comprehensively renovated the building from 2012 to 2023 and renovated the prestigious rooms on the first floor in 2025, closely following the original design. The arch motif that gives the station entrance its distinctive appearance also characterizes the interior spaces arranged around the dome. “Au Premier” comprises four conference rooms of different sizes and a bar. Together with Candrian Catering and the architects, who were also responsible for the interior design, teo jakob developed bespoke furnishing solutions for the prestigious rooms.
One of the conference rooms is distinguished by a dark green pure new wool carpet designed by the architecture firm and custom-made by Ruckstuhl (530 x 630 cm).
