Step 1

Natural fibers – the right material

The Porta brush is woven; unlike many cheap coconut brushes that are glued. Weaving ensures greater density and strength than is the case with glued carpets. The heavy backing on the back provides additional stability and shape retention.

Other advantages of Porta are the good brushing effect, the ability to absorb moisture (about 20% of its own weight), durability, and a beautiful aging process. The tannin in the coconut fiber has a cleansing and disinfecting effect. Coconut fiber is a renewable raw material.

The correct application

To serve as an effective dirt barrier, entrance areas should already be designed as clean-off zones during construction. They should be adequately sized. As a rule of thumb, a building visitor should take 6 steps on the dirt-removing surface to remove dirt from their footwear. This significantly helps to save cleaning costs.

The competent planning

A professionally planned entrance area saves costly subsequent measures. The size of the clean-off zone also depends on the frequency of use.

Ideally Porta is already considered during the planning of a building, and a recess for the dirt lock is provided.Another option is to lay Porta from wall to wall. This way, Porta is aesthetically integrated into the architecture. Thanks to its heavy coating on the back, Porta is slip-resistant.
