Ideas, plans, and materials come together to create a rug intended for just one place.

Ruckstuhl already offers almost unlimited possibilities for customization within its existing collection. Each custom-sized rug is precisely made to order and finished with edging that subtly shapes its materiality, character and spatial impact. From fine linen, leather or satin finishes to individually developed borders, the result is a rug that fits precisely into the architecture, interior and personal vision.

On request, our workshop can also use customers’ own fabrics or leather for the edging - for example, to coordinate with furniture, textile concepts or brand identities. Special shapes, oversized rugs or complex floor plans are executed with the same care as custom-made one-off pieces for private homes, hotels, boutiques or prestigious workspaces.

There is even greater freedom when not only the finishing but the rug itself is reimagined: together with our specialists, we develop custom rugs that translate spatial requirements, materiality, color palettes and design ideas into a precise textile language.

From individual color nuances and special constructions to entirely new designs, Ruckstuhl guides the process from the first idea to completion, drawing on decades of material expertise and workshop manufacturing in Langenthal.

CUSTOMIZATION

Every situation has different requirements. Some call for millimeter-level precision, others for custom shapes, special materials, or solutions that take shape only on site.

In Ruckstuhl’s finishing process, textile material becomes a finished object, tailored to the architecture, its use, and the people who live with it.

But to us, finishing means far more than processing a carpet. It encompasses consulting, project management, production, logistics, and support right through to the final seam on site.

The result is textile solutions that integrate precisely into their architectural surroundings – crafted in Langenthal since 1881.

Signature Entrances

Some materials exert their effect quietly. PORTA is one of them. For decades, Ruckstuhl has been manufacturing the classic coconut mat in Langenthal – robust, precise, and made for entrances that endure heavy daily use while radiating a calm presence. Whether a private home, boutique, or hotel: PORTA combines function with architectural presence.

The entrance area becomes the calling card of a building – well-maintained, precise, and tailored to the space. Especially where identity is meant to be visible, PORTA shows its strength. Logos, lettering, or graphic elements are permanently inlaid as high-quality intarsia into the carpet – not printed on, but an integral part of the material. For boutiques, hotels, or private residences, entrances with character and recognizability are created.

SPECIAL COLORS
