Choosing the right rug depends on how a room is used, the level of wear it will be subject to, and its design requirements. Ruckstuhl offers carpets and custom-sized rugs made from a range of natural fibres and in different constructions. Key considerations include the product’s technical properties, its use class, and maintenance and fire safety requirements.

Ruckstuhl uses wool, sisal, and coir, as well as rare natural fibres such as animal hair, Fiqué and linen fibres. Each fibre has its own feel, structure, and distinctive properties. 

The choice of material affects both the aesthetic appeal and the functional suitability of a rug.

Ruckstuhl has relied on natural fibers from the very beginning. Durable constructions and resource-conscious manufacturing. In addition, the workshop develops solutions using recycled materials and documented material origins. Coir tiles, for example, can be replaced individually, thus extending the service life of the entire carpet accordingly. 

Sustainability is not viewed as a single product feature, but as an interplay of factors.

Ruckstuhl turns your vision into a custom-made rug or carpet, whether based on an existing product in a custom colour, a made-to-measure piece or a completely new design.

We can mix custom colours either to match our colour collection or using a Pantone, NCS or RAL palette. We can also match colours based on a sample or a favourite item. You will receive a sample for approval before production. 

In our experience, building and site plans sometimes differ from the actual conditions on site. For this reason, we make a template for complex custom work such as stair landings, special shapes and oversized rugs, which is laid out and checked on site. Alternatively, we can also make rugs to templates supplied to us.

Our care database provides detailed instructions for caring for and cleaning our carpets and rugs. 

You can order hand samples and material swatches for your project through our sample portal. We’d be happy to make larger samples specifically for your project – with the matching border trim, if you wish.

We’d be happy to advise you personally on selecting suitable products, materials and samples. If you already have mood boards, sketches, plans or material concepts, feel free to send them to us in advance. This allows us to tailor the sampling to your project.

For deliveries to the EU, we need an EORI number to ensure smooth customs clearance and shipping.
