Code of Conduct
SCOPE
This Code of Conduct applies to all branches and business units of Ruckstuhl.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Ruckstuhl is committed to complying with all applicable laws and legal regulations in the countries where the company operates. Ruckstuhl pursues fair competition and rejects all forms of corruption, extortion, and bribery. At the same time, the company strives for continuous improvement of transparency within its supply chains and ensures appropriate communication of its business practices externally.
HUMAN RIGHTS
Ruckstuhl respects human rights and ensures it is not involved in human rights violations. Any form of discrimination is fundamentally excluded. This applies regardless of nationality, origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, disability, religion, or belief.
Assessments, promotions, and new hires are made solely based on qualification, performance, and suitability.
Ruckstuhl respects privacy and the protection of personal data. All data of employees, customers, suppliers, and business partners are handled with the utmost care and processed exclusively within the framework of applicable legal provisions.
All employees are required to take appropriate measures to protect confidential information and secure the company’s IT systems.
Ruckstuhl respects the right to freedom of expression and promotes open communication within the company. Employees who report actual or suspected misconduct in good faith are protected from disadvantages or reprisals.
COLLABORATIVE CONDUCT
Ruckstuhl treats customers, suppliers, and business partners with fairness, honesty, and respect. The needs and expectations of partners are identified and incorporated into products, services, and operational processes. The aim is long-term, stable cooperation based on mutual trust.
Business information and partners’ trade and business secrets are treated confidentially. Necessary documents are properly prepared and retained, and after the cooperation ends, they are managed or destroyed in accordance with legal requirements.
STANDARDS OF COLLABORATION
Ruckstuhl expects all employees at all times to conduct themselves in accordance with applicable company policies and the highest professional standards.
Managers have a particular responsibility for implementing and complying with this Code of Conduct. They are required to know and comply with the laws, regulations, and policies relevant to their area of responsibility.
Business partners and their suppliers are also required to comply with the applicable legal provisions. This applies in particular to regulations governing imports, exports, trade, payment transactions, and compliance with embargo, sanctions, and counter-terrorism regulations.
Ruckstuhl expects its suppliers to implement comparable ethical and social standards. These include in particular:
- Prohibition of forced labour
- Prohibition of child labour
- Compliance with statutory working and rest periods
- Appropriate and fair remuneration
- Equal treatment and equal opportunities
- Occupational safety and health protection
- Respect for freedom of assembly and association
ENVIRONMENT AND RESOURCES
Protecting the environment and climate has been an essential part of Ruckstuhl’s corporate identity since its founding in 1881. All employees are expected to comply with applicable environmental regulations and use natural resources responsibly.
Using energy, water, and raw materials consciously is part of everyday conduct. Processes are continuously reviewed and developed further to conserve resources and steadily reduce the environmental impact.
