Patricia Urquiola was born in 1961 in Spain, studied at the School of Architecture of Madrid and at the Milan Polytechnic, where she graduated in 1989. In 2001, she founded her own studio in Milan. She works in product design, architecture, and installations. She collaborates with renowned companies such as Alessi, B&B Italia, Baccarat, Bisazza, BMW, Driade, Foscarini, Flos, Kartell, Kvadrat, Molteni, Moroso, Mutina, Rosenthal, and many others. Patricia Urquiola has won several awards, including the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes 2010 in Spain. Today, she serves as Art Director for Cassina.
