Atelier oï was founded in 1991 in La Neuveville by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis, and Patrick Reymond. The name oï comes from the Russian word Troika, which means trio and is meant to indicate the dynamic of a three-person team. The three founders come from the fields of architecture, design, and shipbuilding. Together with their team, they work on projects in architecture, interior design, product design, and scenography in an international context. A fundamental basis for atelier oï's work is the intensive engagement with a material or a specific construction method. The experiences gained in this process typically enrich several, essentially independent projects. Atelier oï's clients include companies such as the Swatch Group, B&B Italia, Foscarini, Louis Vuitton, Ikea, and Roethlisberger.
