Design

The creative potential of experiment and chance.

At the centre of all our intentions, in addition to the coherent combination of function and aesthetics, is the consistent statement of material, structure and colouring. Our design process results in products that are durable on several levels: In the quality of the first-class materials and in the classic timelessness of their appearance. In the contemporary combination of nature, colour and architecture, we fulfil new conditions for harmonious living and working.

"Correctly understood, simplicity in art is a positive, creative quality. In it one recognises spiritual grandeur, conceptual breadth, richness of detail and, on top of all this, a sense of completeness like that of a tree or a flower."* The harmony of architecture by Frank Lloyd Wright, author of this sentence, emerged from the correlation of nature, topography and architecture. He saw simplicity and tranquillity as a basic prerequisite for the good life. The dwelling, according to Wright, should be "lovable". Thoughts like these on harmony, nature and culture are as relevant today as they were at the time of their formulation.

Le Corbusier referred to the "eternally valid" colours of nature. They are always harmonious. Colour was indispensable to him as a mood-creating element and organising principle of his architecture. These functions were each assigned appropriate colour palettes. We are concerned with questions such as: What appeals to our clientele? How do we come up with colours that are desirable and give pleasure? What objective criteria make one colour more beautiful than the next? Are there colours that survive all trends?

New products are developed in the creative process in the company's own studio. Ruckstuhl is also always able to win over renowned international designers for designs - personalities who have made their mark in the fields of fashion, architecture and product design.
